US watchdog has accused chain restaurants with encouraging Amerians to overeat. Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI).are demanding nutritional information from all chain restaurants.
"With appetizers, entrées, and desserts weighing in at 2,000 calories apiece, the time is ripe for menu labeling", CSPI.
CSPI criticizes and said that burgers and dishes at restaurants are getting more bigger instead of getting healtheir. The CSPI says consumers don’t know that they might be getting several days worth of of calories in single meal. The average RDA (Recommended daily intake) for a man and a woman is 2500 and 2000 calories, respectively. The CSPI pointed products like "colossal burger" having 1940 calories and 140 grams of fat , which is approxiamately a days worth of calories
CSPI further said that these dishes are promoting heart diseases and obesity.
According to American Obesity Association, there is a higher portion of obese woman than men and half of the adult Americans are overwight and approx ¼ to 1/3 are adipose.
